Summary
The Manager, Integration Engineer is accountable for the workflow and projects within Integration Engineering. Being a working manager, the Manager, Integration Engineer not only manages but also develops and implements solutions incorporating internal and customer applications to DUMAC’s software products and supported software and hardware. This role evaluates existing components or systems to determine integration requirements and ensures that the final solution meets organizational needs. The role oversees the relationship between support, sales, customers, and vendors. Additionally, this role reviews and assists in documenting recommended configuration settings for new hardware components and operating systems relative to software sold and serviced by DUMAC. The Manager, Integration Engineer position will manage the Integration Engineers team.
Essential Functions
- Manages the workflow, projects, and assignments of the Integration Engineers
- Develops specifications for applications based on customer or internal requirements
- Develops software that integrates one or more applications based on customer or internal specifications
- Assists the Technical Account Representatives and Support Services in understanding various software/hardware integrations
- Provides technical support to the Support and Implementation teams relative to system and applications operations and troubleshooting complex issues.
- Works directly with third-party vendors to develop methods and programs for interacting with supported software
- Collaborates with Product Development to ship developed applications with the production systems
- Develops report specifications and reports for internal use or to fulfill customer requests
- Works with customers and Technical Account Representatives to develop design documents for new features or add-on modules to the RORC Point of Sale (POS)
- Responsible for the testing processes performed by the Integration Engineers and the testing of assigned work
- Works closely with Product Development and Quality Assurance to ensure that the software products run on new hardware and operating systems
- Accountable that the parameter settings necessary for correct application operation are accurately documented by the Technical Writer
- Prepares estimates for assigned projects and/or tasks
- Monitors the marketplace for new hardware and operating system releases; Secures and tests components against the various supported software platforms
- Develops application development tools
- Ensures the success of assigned projects by managing expectations and controlling perceptions by clearly defining scope, working within the defined scope, and communicating accurate status
- Provides on-call support as needed
- Provides written and verbal reports as required
Additional Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Proven ability to manage and coach teams, hold team meetings, and establishes performance expectations
- Participate in the recruiting and hiring process of team members
- Delegates duties and establishes formal means of accountability
- Advises, consults, and makes recommendations to the executive management team on strategy, policy, and long-range planning
- Reviews and takes proper corrective action to resolve inter-company, client, member, or vendor issues
- Oversees the development of realistic and accurate project plans with benchmarks to measure project success
- Responsible for team P&L including job costing, expense management, and resource needs forecasting
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Engineering or Computer Science or 6+ years of relevant experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical personnel via phone, e-mail, or in person.
- Expert knowledge and experience with SQL, including queries, stored procedures, joins, backup, & restore
- Expert in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel features
- Programming skills in visual studio, .net, and C#
- Expert problem solver and analyst at both the technical and application levels
- Subject matter expert (SME) in all areas of POS application suites
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and logical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a team environment
Possess the accountability and personal responsibility to own and drive results
- Working knowledge of internal system interfaces and the distribution of data to external systems
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading a service or support function
- Deep knowledge of supermarket and convenience store operations
- Deep working knowledge of RORC, ISS-45, or ScanMaster Point of Sale (POS)
- Ability to provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top-level contributor/specialist
